We are delighted to share snapshots from the 2026 Pacific Rim Tax Conference 2026. The 15th edition of the Conference, meticulously curated by PACIFIC TAX POLICY INSTITUTE INC, and supported by Tax Executives Institute (TEI) – Silicon Valley Chapter and SILICON VALLEY TAX DIRECTORS GROUP, synergized corporate tax leaders and tax professionals. It also unites the US Competent Authorities with their counterparts from the Pacific Rim, as they discussed, deliberated, and debated various tax policy issues, and it is a watershed for international tax conferences.

Our Managing Partner, Mr. Mukesh . Butani was invited to two noteworthy India-focused panels. Firstly, he led the Continental Breakfast session, where he discussed recent developments in India’s tax policy landscape with the venerable Mr. Peter Barnes (Of Counsel, Caplin & Drysdale) and Mr. Pitambar Das (JS, TPL-II, Ministry of Finance, Government of India).

He was also a part of the Government Panel on India, chaired by Mr. Bill DeFazio (SVP, Tax & Treasury, Okta), along with Mr. Das as a Panellist. The session delved into important developments in the Indian tax regime, their implications for US MNEs and the overall investment climate, and the roadmap ahead.

We commend the Conference organisers, Stewart Karlinsky, Barbara Phalen and the rest of the team for a seamless, high-quality conference. Our firm remains committed to the Institute’s endeavors for tax certainty.
